Caylin Jensen

One of our very favorite collaborations has happened quietly behind the scenes for years. Every personalized tote from Milton Market is hand-painted by local artist Caylin Jensen, whose studio is tucked inside the Bantam Arts Factory. Each custom monogram is painted by hand, one at a time, making every tote uniquely personal. Caylin has painted hundreds of totes for us. In all the years of being in and out of her studio, we completely fell for her work.

Entirely self-taught, Caylin has an instinctive gift for color. Her botanical paintings are exuberant, expressive, and unmistakably her own — layered with vibrant hues that feel both unexpected and utterly alive. They stop you in your tracks.

We are thrilled to present Caylin's personal work at Milton Market for the very first time. She has created a series of twelve small 8" x 10" paintings, and a very special triptych — each one hand-framed by Caylin herself, in a naive and charming artists frame, creating pieces that are full of the color and life that make her work so irresistible.

Caylin Jensen, originally from Boulder, Colorado, moved to Litchfield, Connecticut in 2014. She is self-taught and has cultivated and maintained her artistic practice for the past 15 years. A primary theme in her work is her admiration for the natural world and its perseverance. Caylin aims to highlight and pay tribute to the beauty of nature within a world that sometimes takes advantage of its solidity. Caylin currently works from her studio in The Arts Factory, in Bantam, Connecticut.

This series is a celebration of the resplendency of flowers, and the optimism they bring year after year. The palette is vibrant with unguarded enthusiasm — a love letter to nature and the simple abiding joy of flowers.
